Gain valuable hands-on experience and earn credit with an internship at B.L.I.N.D. Sight Productions (BSP). BSP brings together blind, partially-sighted and sighted youth to perform theatrical productions in the community.
We are seeking 2 interns for the Spring 2008 semester to work directly with the Founder/Artistic Director. Graduate and undergraduate students of all majors welcome.
This is a great resume-building internship with lots of management, problem-solving and communication skills development.
Very flexible work hours/location - the successful candidates will need to spend a minimum of 1-2 hours on Saturday afternoons (between 12 Noon – 4pm) with BSP’s youth program at P.S. No. 86, with the rest of time spent at the candidate’s discretion in pursuit of tasks. P.S. 86 is located in the Bronx and is easily accessible by public transportation and driving.
POSSIBLE TASK AREAS:
• Program expansion and recruitment
• Production management, planning and support
• Fundraising and networking
• Marketing and public affairs
• Strategic planning and budgeting
• Human resource solutions
• Organizational governance
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Eager to work with blind and visually-impaired children
• Able to commit a minimum of 120 hours per semester (e.g., approximately 8 hours per week during a 15-week semester)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Cross-disciplined and can multi-task
• Able to work independently
• Access to computer and Internet

Progressive new company looking for retail designers/interior architects immediately. Contract work is OK, but would like to hire internally. We are a small company, operating in in the retail design space. Our target clients are large national chain type companies and we focus on repeatable, scalable designs. Our ideal candidate would be a person who can work independently and is comfortable with repeatable design processes.
Skills: familiarity with Corel Draw or SmartDraw (or equivalent), Sketch Up, Autocad (or familiarity). Space planning and organizational skills are a must. We are seeking experienced designers but will train the right person if you have the core skills we are looking for.
