When it Rains it Pours
It's New Year's Eve. Who works on New Year's Eve? Apparently everyone but my friend and neighbor. She invited me over for lunch and for our daughters to play because she was off of work. I knew I had a little work that had to be done today but figured I'd do it during my daughter, Morgan's, nap time and accepted the invitation. Then I remember that some of the checks that had to be printed and mailed today were date sensitive and had to be postmarked today. Does the post office close early on New Year's Eve? I didn't know. I also need to go to the bank and drop off some overnight packages. Do those close early today? So I decided to rush and get my work done before our 11am play date. Of course, I don't get done in time and finish my erands by 11:15am, not too bad. I stop into my house before going to hers and find an urgent voicemail. By 11:30 I've returned the voicemail and opted to take my laptop with me to wait for an email rather than delay any longer. So we sit chit chating while I watch my email, but at least she was understanding. So much for the separation of work and play.
