I've mentioned Helium on this blog before, but today I decided I'd give it try myself. For those who do not know, Helium.com pays writers for posting their articles on their site. Articles are rated by other Helium users for quality, grammer, spelling and content. The better your rating, the more you get paid. You also get to retain your copy rights.
So what can your realistically earn on Helium. That really depends on how many articles you post, their quality, and whether or not you participate in their Marketplace and Contests. From what I've gathered from other readers, you can make a few bucks a month to several hundred.
I can say, I've spent several hours on there today and posted 7 articles. Only 4 of which are active because I requested new topics for the other three. On those 4 active articles, all have been ranked well enough to be considered a "Feature Article". The first one I posted as already earned me my first penny. Ok, so a penny for several hours worth of work is not much, but these articles can keep on earning money for as long a people keep reading them. So my first penny on my first day, seems pretty fast to me.
I'll report back in a few day and let you know how I'm doing.
